My essays, articles, poetry, and fiction have been widely published. Well over 100 poems have appeared in over 60 publications. My poetry tends to be narrative, telling the stories of the people who are at the center of the poems.
My articles and essays have appeared in such magazines and newspapers as the San Francisco Chronicle, Pure Inspiration, The East Bay Monthly, The Montclarion, and India West. Among the many literary journals that have published my poems are Jewish Currents, Home Planet News, Pearl, Memoir(and), and Nerve Cowboy. I have also published five books of poetry ~ one, Sunday Ritual, won first prize in Nerve Cowboy’s 2000 chapbook contest ~ and a short story collection, The Woman Who Knocked Out Sugar Ray.
As an editor over the past seven years, I have edited nonfiction, fiction, and poetry.
As a ghostwriter, I specialize in memoirs. My most recent ghostwritten memoir is Beyond and Back: The Journey, Tammy Ring Gjerde’s story of life with her husband. I have also done oral histories of artist and poet Daniel Marlin (author, Heart of Ardor), elders in a retirement home, and members of my family.
